If you child is having difficulty eating or sleeping due the following conditions please call us:
If your child has a toothache, contact our office. It may be a permanent tooth is arriving, or a deciduous “baby” tooth is leaving. If a filling has been placed recently it may be that the restoration is high and needs further polishing. It may also be an indication of infection or cavity that can only be diagnosed with an office visit.
Broken or chipped tooth:
Young children that are still learning balance and coordination may fall and injure teeth. If you child fractures or “chips” a tooth they should be seen as soon as possible for examination and likely an X-ray of the tooth. Mouth guards are recommended for any child that participates in “contact” or “collision” sports.
If a tooth is “knocked out” please call us immediately to consult. Ideally the tooth would be placed in a medium similar to saliva for transport. Permanent teeth should be reinserted as soon as possible while primary teeth do not. Call our office immediately to discuss what to do.
There are numerous dental emergencies that can occur with children. We recommend contacting our office right away for any problems with their oral health.
